CURRENT SIDEWALK STATUS

Phase 1 - Construction on both Queensferry (Kildaire to Annandale) and Glasgow (Kildaire to Annandale) is ongoing. Expected completion date is the end of January 2010.  The delayed completion was due to some utility conflicts with the wheelchair ramps at the curb radius and street intersections.  Currently the temperature is too low for concrete to set up.  Permanent seeding should be completed in spring and silt fences will then be removed. Phase 2 - Both Queensferry (Annandale to Dunedin) and Glasgow (Annandale to St.Andrews) are approved for funding. Design is ongoing and construction is scheduled for 2011. Funds were approved as part of the 2008 budget so there will be no funding delays from Town Council.  Project will go to bid in Spring of 2011 and construction is expected to begin in the Spring/Summer of 2011.  The sidewalk path will continue on Queensferry from Annandale to Dunedin and on Glasgow from Annandale to St. Andrews. The design plan is nearly complete. The primary goal of the town during the design process is to minimize any change to homeowners landscaping, to incorporate current driveway layout, and to work within the current utility lines as much as possible. Both phases of Queensferry and Glasgow will remain on the Town's priority list and will be evaluated and ranked once after new funding has been approved.
