Neighborhood Watch Update!
We are excited to share with you a new program that will be implemented in our neighborhood in the near future. Our Homeowner's Association is partnering with the Town of Cary Police Department to start a Neighborhood Watch Program. Neighborhood Watch is a crime prevention program that enlist's the active participation of citizens in cooperation with law enforcement. This is a simple way to ensure the continued safety of our community. By cooperating with each other and the police, we can efficiently help fight crime before it happens.
In order to make this program a success, we need your help. We are currently seeking volunteers to be Block Captains. These people serve as leaders for their blocks in the neighborhood, and act as a liaison between their blocks and the Neighborhood Watch Chairperson. If you are interested in being a Block Captain, or would like more information, please e-mail Jodi Myers at macgregordownshoa@gmail.com
Keeping a Look Out on Your Neighborhood!
The Board and the Town of Cary Police Department always feel that it is good to remind our neighbors to observe suspicious activity in the neighborhood and to report it to the Town of Cary Police Department at 919-469-4012.
It is important to lock all of your doors, especially the one that leads from the garage to your residence, not leaving valuables in vehicles (particularly purses, computers, GPS units, etc.) Pay attention to your pets if they alert to sounds in the middle of the night, particularly when it seems out of character for them. Make note of unfamiliar vehicles or persons who are seen in the neighborhood (any time of day), and please do not hesitate to call the Town of Cary Police Department to investigate ANY suspicious activity.
If calling in a vehicle, please try to note as many identifying features as possible (make, model, color, tag #, race and sex of occupants, last known location, last known direction of travel, etc...) WE know in the heat of the moment, it's nearly impossible to get ALL of that information, but the more we know to tell the Police Department, the better chance they will have of locating it and determining whether or not they are there for lawful reasons or otherwise.
The Board is presently reviewing a Neighborhood Watch Program over the summer, more details to follow so stay tuned to our website www.macgregordowns.com
Thank you Neighbors for your cooperation and due diligence.

You may elect to have all, some or none of your information published on the Online Membership Directory. Even if you do not want any information on the online directory it will be important to check the box that emails are okay for you to receive. This will be an important way for the Board to communicate to you if there is an emergency or an important civic or municipal event that affects our community.
The Online Membership Directory and Neighborhood Marketplace will be released in JULY 2010. We are still working out some glitches and want to ensure that everything works properly and most important we only display what information that you the members have authorized.
